La organización Music for Occupy va a lanzar una recopilación de música inspirada en por el movimiento del 15 de Mayo, Occupy Wall Street.

Este álbum recopilatorio cuenta con Yoko Ono, Patti Smith, Yo La Tengo, New Party Systems (con miembros de TV on the Radio, Liturgy, y los Notekillers), Mogwai, Ladytron, Tom Morello, Debbie Harry, Thee Oh Sees, Lucinda Williams, Amanda Palmer, UNKLE, Girls Against Boys, Willie Nelson, el director Michael Moore (versionando a Bob Dylan), y muchos más.

La edición en CD tiene 78 canciones en cuatro discos, mientras que la edición digital tiene 100 canciones (99 canciones y una canción “secreta”). Muchas de estas canciones no han sido publicadas, como el Earth Division de Mogwai. Todos los beneficios de las ventas serán para Occupy Wall Street.

Una fiesta de lanzamiento tendrá lugar en el City Winery de Nueva York el 8 de Mayo, con actuaciones y colaboraciones de artistas incluidos en el recopilatorio. Las entradas para este evento incluyen una copia del álbum, y curiosamente una botella del vino tinto “Occupy This Wine”.
